Will 1978 Jeep Cherokee/Wagoneer Dana 44 axles fit on a 1989 YJ Wrangler? If so, are any modifications required?
You can make it fit. I t will have a different lug patter. The leaf-spring purchase will need to be relocated. Different u-joint or possible yoke change on the drive-shaft.
They will fit nicely in a CJ7, they did in mine. Your YJ has a driver side transfer and the Waggy front axle is a passenger side pumpkin. It can be used but it would have to be tampered with in very expensive ways, e-mail me if you want to know how.
