I just bought a Kodak Z981 and they gave me a wall charger kit with it. I inserted the batteries correctly and plugged it in with an apparatus for european sockets (and the apparatus does work) but the light on the charger just doesn't come on. What might be wrong with it?
Have you verified that the charger works with European power? 50Hz, 220V isn't the same as US 60Hz, 110V. Most modern transformers do conform to most power situations, but not all. If the light isn't coming on, one of 4 things can be wrong: 1) the wall socket is dead, 2) the adapter isn't working, 3) the charger doesn't do European power, 4) the charger isn't working.
