Question:

Landlord will not change smoke detector battery in lobby.?

I have a smoke detector in the lobby of my building that has been beeping because of a dead battery for about two months. I've called the office on numerous occasions and nothing ever gets done about it. Yesterday, the other one in the lobby started to go off as well. Can I hire someone to change the battery and make the complex foot the bill? I would change it myself but it's not in a place where I can reach it without a really really tall ladder.
