Question:

leaking from r/r axle behind lug bolts?

replaced rear end a few months ago /top off gear oil it leaked real bad (over filled ) now a leak has come from the end of axle behind lug bolts

Answer:

it,s coming from the axle seals. what you need to do is pull the axles and put new seals in but oil the new seals up before installing them.
The axle seal is leaking (or the housing could be cracked, but that is rare and the seal is only a rubber and spring, much more likely). It is not that hard to replace, just takes a few wrenches, a screwdriver or seal puller, and new gear lube, and some RTV gasket maker (it works better than the pre-made gaskets). Make sure that you check the air bleeder in the top of the rear end, it will be on the end of a hose or a small plastic piece that goes directly into the housing- if the bleeder gets plugged it will leak as the rear end warms up from the least resistance point, and may mimic both an over-flled or bad seal situation.
bad axle seal, pull the axle and replace it.
