Question:

Lexus transmission trouble please help?

recently put on a lot of new parts. well now my transmission is acting up, no leaks that i can see. could it be because my transmission fluid is wrong, the manual says T2 the lady at auto zone gave me T5

Answer:

I own a 2006 Lexus ES 330. The owners manual specifically states using Toyota T2 fluid only. An aftermarket fluid isn't recommended either (example- Mobil 1, pennzoil, etc.) It warns that shifting problems, transmission damage, transmission lock-up or other problems are likely to occur. Go to your Toyota or Lexus dealer and buy 2 jugs of the Toyota brand T2. change the fluid, drive it for a while, then change it again. this is necessary because half of the fluid stays in the tourque converter when you drain the transmission. double changing the fluid will give you an approximate dilution of 75% good Toyota T2 fluid in your transmission. Three changes would be even better. If your car has over 100,000 km's (60,000 mi) since the last fluid change, Then it's due for a fluid change anyway.
Suggest that you ask this question in the Earth Sciences Geology section.
examine the transmission ranges. if no longer you in all probability choose the transmission replaced. I actually have a ninety 4 es300 and that i replaced the transmission with a used one and it cost me approximately $a million,4 hundred. cost alot, yet is greater cost-effective than paying for a clean automobile
