Question:

Lincoln Continental Mk VI Performance Suspension?

I am currently building up my ‘81 Lincoln Continental, and am looking for a web site that offers performance suspension kits for the boat. Initially I found a web site 8 months ago but I lost the address. I am NOT looking for an air bag setup, just a plain old coil spring upgrade with at least a 3 drop. If your wondering why I want to upgrade, it‘s simple. This heavy hauler rolls like a tug boat in corners, and DON‘T tell me to get a small car if I want better performance. Besides if I wanted one I‘d buy one, not many dinky cars are worth much, unlike my luxury linner which was appraised at $6500.00 and possibly more if it was brought to auction. Thanks

Answer:

it goes offf if someone passes to close or touches the car
the wind can cause it to go off when the car shakes or a fly trapped inside but if it happens regularly you should tell your garage coz it may be a fault :) x
Don't worry amigo, I'm not going to insult your choice of car. I plan on buying a '79 Continental Coupe when I get some money saved up. From what I know about older vehicles such as that I doubt you will be able to find a suspension kit. You should be able to order springs and shocks from manufacturers for whatever size you desire. On the front just get some smaller springs with a stif rate. Get some heavy-heavy duty shocks. You should be able to find a sway bar for the back and front. I have a sway bar on the back of my Mountaineer and it handles like a car and not an SUV. If the back end is leafs, you might have some trouble finding leafs, but I believe you should be able to custom order it. If you have enough expertise you may be able to do a coil over. You could always spend alot of money and do a custom independent suspension system.
