carpet seems to be deteriorating and flying in air..manufacturerer says it is not from their carpet. By using wet sponge, I collect specimens from around edges of carpet that are the color of the carpet and look like wet cardboard.
Good heavens, that's strange. Did you buy this carpet yourself, or was it already there? Do you know what the material is? I have lived in five houses with wall-to-wall carpeting and have never, ever seen that. If you can't find out what the material is on the phone, then take a piece of it to Home Depot or a specialty carpeting store or someplace like that and get some help. If you have major problems with this, I would call your local television news station and get them interested in a faulty product story. This might pressure the carpeting manufacturer to pay some attention to your issue. One final note though: whoever owned the carpet before you might have applied some kind of product to the carpet which is causing its detioration. Good luck.
