the reason black absorbs more is because of the way the molecules are set up inside of the fabric so there might be a gap like area between the molecules, absorbing the light and as for the white fabric or light colors, they are very tightly packed and reflect things because there is no room for light to come into the area of where it would usually be in a dark fabric.
