Question:

Mechanics. What is the truth regarding strut spacer leveling kits?

I want to level my 2009 F150 4x4 with auto spring 2.5 strut spacer. There are those who say aside from a faster wearing upper ball joint and a toe correction that it‘s no big deal. And there are those who claim the truck can‘t be aligned and every suspension and steering component could fail.Would the Camburg or Total Chaos upper control arms set things to right?

Answer:

Here is the truth about modifying any component of any vehicle, any change you make will require continuous monitoring and more frequent repairs. I am not a fan of any of the suspension systems in factory vehicle setups although they are primarily designed for safety and durability. Anytime you move a suspension component beyond what it is designed for it compromises the integrity of the whole system due to incorrect placement and the force of leverage. Not to mention the G sensors, yaw sensors and what not will put you in the ditch.
Either one would be fine. I prefer a heat lamp. Besure to remove the eggs from the cage.
