Answer:

I would say Stoner Metal. Rythemn what type of music do you exactly like when you are talking about Speed Metal because Speed Metal is such a broad genre no offence. I mean, Speed Metal is usually combined with another genre. Such as Slayer plays both Speed and Thrash Metal. Then there are bands like Dragonforce who play Speed and Power Metal. Then you have Wintersun who plays Melodic Death Metal and Speed Metal. So exactly what bands do you listen to that are considered Speed Metal? Just curious. Thanks for backing my opinion up Killer Peaches.
I would say Progressive Metal other than Opeth I don't see many other bands of that genre mentioned on here. I'm with Heavy Metal Jesus on Doom it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Lol at all of the sarcastic replies in spite of the certainty that I rather tend to gravitate in the direction of melo-dying metallic, i think of people metallic is rather underrated. Stuff like Falkenbach, Finntroll, Tyr, Ensiferum (regardless of the indisputable fact that they are between the extra properly-many times taking place people metallic bands) MQ: Iron Maiden, even regardless of the indisputable fact that Black Sabbath started metallic, i admire Iron Maiden's music extra useful and that i think of that they are almost as influential as Sabbath, if not extra MQ2: Sounds alright to me. Lyrics are kinda cheesy imo, even for a capability metallic band (or despite the fact that they're, i've got not listened to them in the previous, and that they sound capability metallic-ish to me). Guitarwork is okay MQ3: i do no longer think of there are any overvalued genres, yet i do in contrast to how many people declare to love Thrash metallic, yet basically pay attention to the vast 4 of Thrash. i've got not rather observed this with the different style
You know..Roxel asks a good point. A lot of what we called Speed Metal back in the day (late 80s for me) is stuck under other Genres now... Like Bolt Thrower..used to just be called UK SpeedMetal. I remember it was even listed that way at the shops... SpeedMetal. Now.. we really don't see it mentioned. Weird. Seems like a lot of the bands we called Speed back in the day are either Thrash or Death now.
I agree, speed metal is one of my favorite genres, i wish i knew more people who listen to it
