Not a real good long distance bike.More of an urban pub crawler.
Take a look at some of the new Triumphs. They have those vintage good looks but are mechanically light years ahead of the Royal Enfields.
They are under-powered AND under-braked for use on North American freeways. The newer ones (2010 and up, I believe) have a front disc brake and fuel injection, but still are not up to the demands of freeway use. They're really better for leisurely travel on secondary roads.
