Question:

motorcycle tire problem?? HELP!!?

ok, so i just un mounted and mounted a tire myself using tire irons , now the problem is that im trying to fill it up with air with a compressor at a gas station but nothing is happening , it should pop into place right????. does it take a long time ?? do i need a more powerful compressor?? what am i doing wrong?? thanks

Answer:

take a piece of rope, wrap it around the tire, tie it in a knot, put a piece of wood (broom handle, something in that effect) and twist it tight, this will make the tire press up against the rim, fill with air, you will know when the tire is holding its own, it might take a couple of trys but it does work.
you can either use a rope or a ratcheting tie down put it around the tire and it squeezes the middle together then try to inflate soap around the bead helps also like liquid dish soap you will probably need a air compresser with a tank not a portable one it probably will not have enough volume to seat the bead but you could try
A gas station air pump may not have enough volume to inflate an unseated tire.Take it to a tire shop they will have a bead seater that'll do the job
You need more volume man.I just did my own rear on my 929 and man did it pop when it finally seated.Push the tire down hard by hand and 1 side should seat itself.Put a little dish soap on the lip of the other bead pull up slightly then hit it with the air,you should be good to go.
Before filling the tire, lubricate both tire beads (where the tire touches the rim) with soapy water. Remove the inner valve core - will allow air into the tire at a faster speed and pop the beads. Keep repeating until both beads pop. Lube, fill with air, let the air out, lube, fill with air, etc. When the beads pop, install the inner valve core.
