Who has tried or reviewed the different products?I do not like the idea of my tire suddenly going flat at 80 mph, or any other speed.thank you.
Do not use tire sealant in any motorcycle tire as it throws the balance to $hit.It also makes it impossible to repair as patches won't adhere to any place the sealant contacts.Flat tires are a fact of life and even with sealant they still go flat.
BMW does not recommend any tyre sealant for use in the tyres. The tubed tires on your bike may seem a step backwards but be assured they offer substantial safety over a tubeless version. A high quality natural rubber tube came installed from the factory and in the event of a puncture will deflate at a controlled rate as opposed to a synthetic rubber tube which typically ruptures and tears at the site of a puncture. Also in the event of tread or belt failure the natural rubber tube will sustain dimensional integrity of the tire better than a tubeless suffering the same failure mode. Do not take my word for it. Do the research, Read the material and you will find that the Engineers in Germany are a lot smarter than you, I, or the scoundrels that make tyre goo. Your fear is unfounded and the proposed mitigation is Verbesserung, die noch schlimmer macht.
I don't remember whether that wheel has a tube or not. Don't use sealant in a tube. I don't like the idea of a tire going suddenly flat at any speed, but they rarely do that unless you hit something. If that something gashes your tire, sealant isn't going to do anything for you. I've only used the sealant once when I picked up a small nail and couldn't get the hole to seal - many, many miles from home. I put two bottles of Slime in the tire and that held long enough to get me home and to a new tire. So, my advice is to learn how to ride, take classes and wear all the gear all the time and if you get unlucky enough to crash, you will be as protected as you can. Leave the sealant on the shelf.
