Question:

MOTORCYCLE vs HORSE for daily commuting?

Screw motorcycles, I‘m getting a horse. Runs on hay, great for off-roading,looks cool, unique, no reliability issues, youcould play withit if you get bored (great alternative of dogs!), You can havefertilizer for your garden free ofcost! You can jump over cars in a traffic jam (with a litte bit oftraining to your new buddy). You could eat horse steak if you‘re stuck in the middle of nowhere. Can‘t say that for a motorcycle unless you like drinking 20W50! And of course, they‘re SMOKING HOT! Chicks will be sticking around just for a ride. They‘re THE RIDE OF THE REAL MEN! Alexander The Great had the same brand in matt black! He used to call him BUCEPELUS! And that reason alone is enough to lust after them, right? Besides, no chain adjustment, no oil change, zero emissions, no tires, no top end rebuilt, and of course unlimited tank range to name a few. What are some other pros? Or cons?

Answer:

Living in a rural area and having had animals in the past, I had the same thought. But having had, it was only a quick, joking thought. You leave out many other cons. Fuel isn't just hay, they need grain and water too. Tires shoes (mentioned by another). Mechanic Veterinarian When you get where you're going, you need a place to park (shelter). Needless to say, I stick with motorcycles. I hated shovelling out the stalls.
just like you have to clean up after your dog when you walk it you have to clean up after the horse [its the law] in addition a 2 hr drive will be an all day ride. Horses actually cost more than a motorcycle just to purchase and they have to be stabled, they need a blacksmith to shoe them, they need pasture to graze. The horse feed is not cheap it is fact costly. You can NOT ride your horse on a freeway you will get arrested by the way [obstruction of traffic] I could go on but I think even you get the point.

Silly ideas from the uninformed. I lived for awhile in Amish area, cycle and horse and buggies don't get along when cycle doesn't have a muffler. I also know how to hitch a pair of Belgiums to wagon, haybuck, mower and get them to demonstration of thresher or hay barn 1890s-1930s farm demonstration. Had a Arab gelding and Honda Goldwing at same homesite. Seriously silly post at your end- but it is good for a laugh when others think about it. think of the 'exhaust' from horse- I've worked with it. 'fuel' for horse is a 40 pound bale of hay, not a simple pump 5 gallons once a week into tank to get to work. .
