Hi guys, Just wondering if it was possible to fit motorbike wheels on my moped. I have a jack up kit and the engine can take the extra weight. Thanks
First off, the rim size and tire width vary greatly between different motorcycles and scooters, and second you most probably won't be able to find a motorcycle wheel small enough to put into a scooter, so I am guessing that it is not possible.
Any wheel can be fitted if you have the money and machine shop. what Moped? Kymco People models use 16 inch wheels and some riders have done front wheel swaps after wrecks. Hyunsang(sic?) from Korea has some interchange from their 'motorcycle' models using same drive train as the 'scooter' models. If you're talking back wheels? a few 12 inch wheels can be retro fitted to earlier in series that had 10 inch wheels, a 13 inch wheel may be available for some mopeds with 12 inch wheels. Small 16 inch Honda wheels from the small motorcycle CT series have been fitted to front of the 14 inch wheeled 'Mopeds' of the 'elite' I think series- this on the resurrected after drunk students crashed projects. .
