I am looking to buy my first bike. I am trying to find one that has fat tires. I am looking for a sport touring, standard, touring bike, or a sport that is comfortable to sit on for long distance and can sit upright. Thanks
You may want to look into BMW LT, it has the luxury of both world! If your hands get cold just flip on the grips heater and if your buns get cold heater for those too, as well as GPS hook up and cell phone hook up.
I've said this about a dozen times now, go to a bike shop! You know what you want we don't. TRY and buy but if it is your first bike take a course on ridding. Keep it safe enjoy.
The best way to avoid buying the wrong bike for you is to rent a bike for a day or two and compare several bikes to make sure you will be getting the bike that's right for you. My suggestion is to look for motorcycle rental companies in your area. At the yahoo search box type in motorcycle rental (your city) and find local motorcycle rental companies. Then call several companies to check out their inventory to see if they have any of the bikes you are interested in buying. I own a motorcycle rental company in San Francisco. We have most of the sport touring bikes on the market including a BMW R1200 RT, Honda ST1300, Yamaha FJR1300 and a Kawasaki Concours to name a few.
