Question:

my apartment complex has speed bumps that are way too high and my muffler keeps scraping them. it broke today.?

I have a 98 Chevy cavalier and like I go like 2 miles over them i can't really go any slower and for the last year and a half everyday i go over this on i hear a scrape sound. my muffler became very loud and my husband said there is a hole on the bottom and a bracket that holds it on is broken also. I can't go any other way to avoid this speed bump but anyway can i make the apartments pay for it?

Answer:

As far as I know you don't need to be a journeyman plumber or anything to put in water heaters. Now you would for other plumbing projects. I would check with your local city and they would be able to tell you. But you would need to be licensed (state license)and insured to do project at all. it would cover you and the homeowner your doing the waterheater for. Hope this helps good luck!
Yes very easy simple 1. Turn off breaker at the panel for water heater 2. at the bottom is a plastic drain valve looks similar to an outdoor faucet 3 grab a garden hose and hook it right up and run it out side 4 On top the the tank is two water lines cold running in should have a shut off valve installed, hot going out don't if it does not have a shut off there you will have to shut off you main water supply 5. open bottom valve connected to the hose the tank will start to drain and wait for a half hour or so 6 at this time you can disconnect the hot and cold lines on the top of the tank and go buy new ones they are not that expensive and well worth it. 7. on top of the tank there is a metal plate covering the wiring or a box { the main power supply goes take it off should be one white one black and one copper bare wire for ground dis connect one at a time and use a wire nut to cap disconnect and cap individually even thought the power has been shut off its good practice to keep it safe regardless. unstrap water heater {if strapped] soon as its drains should be lite enough to move out of the way or use a hand truck reverse wire procedure white to white black to black bare copper to the green screw reinstall cover on the side of the old water heater is a valve with a pipe hanging out remove the old one screw into the new one they generally do not come with a new heater and its purpose is a pressure relief valve re-hook up the new water lines use Teflon tape on the threads first make sure they are tight open the water valve cold side or turn main back on DO NOT TURN THE POWER ON YET wait for the tank to refill give it an hour then flip the power breaker back on wait one to two hours depending on the size of the tank and Your done congratulations you just replaced a water heater hope that helps Lr
If you don't have any experience with soldering I would leave this one to a professional. Emergency hot water tank replacement is a ripoff, actually what most plumbers charge for tank replacement is a ripoff. So unless it is an emergency shop around.
Hi Newell! First,I'm praying for you! Now to the questions. I've had HUGE fires that will definitely keep you warm, but you have to stay up all night to keep it hot! About the tent,we used to actually have a fire IN the tent! These were old heavy canvas A-frame tents. A reasonable fire, with a flap open, would keep you quite warm! The only time you would have issues was if the wind changed and it would get a little smoky, but that doesn't happen much here at night. I'm sure you couldn't do this with the newer tents. I don't know how much heat the light synthetics will tolerate. I think you'll do fine and be out of there soon, but in the meantime ask your nurse for some covers, cause I know when I was in the hospital,it felt like cold storage! :)
