First of all, you cant just get the light turned off and pass emmissions. The monitors will not be ready and you will fail. Secondly, replacing the battery wont reset the memory. You did what you could do, replacing the cap which was the correct thing to do (and cheapest). Now what you need to do is go to a shop and pay to have the system smoked. This will identify the source of the leak. Most of the time the actual repair is very inexpensive however most reputable places will charge one hours labor 100 dollars for the diag fee.
