stopped at autozone and had computer hooked to it.what came up wasevaporative emmission system my vehicle is running great !so i am do for an inspection, will i be able to disconnect the battery and shut off the light just so it passes inspction(it is a 2005 astro van)?also when i go for the inspection is the tool they use different than the tool auto zone used?if not the code will show up anyway? any help
To clear the check engine light: 1) Turn the key on (so all the idiot lights and bells come on), but don't start it. 2) Press the gas pedal three times to the floor. 3) Start the car and let it idle for 30 seconds or so. The light should go off.
eh just get normal ones. its cheaper. tons of people need braces, who cares? best just save the money, thats what i would do. it depends on how bad your teeth are and how long you're gonna need the braces on. mine were pretty messed up but i only had them for 2 years but it came to about 8 grand, in california.
my total came to $5,500 and all of the different braces types are the same for me not sure where you are tho so.
If its like the inspection i go to (in Il and Tn), they will not just check for the light to be off. You car keeps a log of how long its been running and how many times you have started the car. If your car has not been running long enough (roughly 50 miles), you will fail the test and they will ask you to drive and come back. You may try putting on a new gas cap. If you have done that, you can take it to a mechanic, they have a tool called a fogger, where they put smoke in you evap system to find a leak by looking for smoke. The tool makes finding a leak easy, and most of the time the cost won't be too expensive because most likely its going to be a hose or a fitting.
EVAP Emission Control Leak (small) is the gas cap being loose and even disconnecting the battery may not clear the code. They should've reset the code for you. Go back or go to an Advanced Auto Parts and have them RESET the code with the same OBD-II Scan Tool.
