Question:

My computer thinks the ctrl key is pressed. Help please!?

Our desktop pc is acting like the ctrl key is pressed. We tried hooking up a different keyboard too but it does the same thing. Is there a setting for this that can be changed? Our pc is pretty much useless right now. First helpful answer will be picked #1. Thanks so much!

Answer:

Here are some ideas. 1. Try pressing both the left and right CTRL keys at the same time and see if that releases CTRL. 2. Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Accessibility Options / Keyboard Options. Turn off CTRL lock if it's on. If that solves it and to avoid future problems, press Settings Turn off Press modifier key twice to lock. Turn on Turn sticky keys off if 2 keys are pressed at once. Or turn off Use shortcut
Check the accessibility settings.
go to control panel, then ease of access, then ease of access center then uncheck the box that says sticky keys.
