Question:

My dog keeps smashing my window open and walking on the roof?

She's half Great Pyrenees, and is about a hundred pound dog. This is maybe the third or fourth time this has happened. She sees other dogs outside and starts banging on the window with her giant paws and smashing it open, and a couple of times we didn't realize until we saw her walking around on the roof! I'm really worried about her safety when she does this, any ideas how to fix this?

Answer:

Try safety glass on these windows that she can access that. I assume it's like.. a second floor, with another roof under the window, like over a porch? Bar the window if it's absolutely necessary. It might look bad, but atleast she's safe. Try banning her from this room, if all else fails. It's the only way.
You might be able to buy an invisible electric indoor fence that you can set to certain parameters like the space in front of the window. Not sure if it can be set that precisely or in such a small area, but I'd look into it if you can. Too dangerous to let her keep doing what she's doing.
a woman wakes as much as locate out she's been in coma all her existence and the existence she was residing was a lie all made up with the aid of using her concepts. So she finally finally ends up now no longer being geared up to tell aside fact from her imaginations and hullcinations and breaks out of the medical enterprise and turns into wanted. Meets some friends alongside the final way/falls in love, something you like, the rest is as much as you. :D desire this is assisting! :) -Phate
1) Put a lock on the window. If you want it to be opened while you're home, put a chain so it can only open so far. 2) Make it so she can't get at the glass, before she breaks it and hurts herself. Bars or wire mesh on the window, furniture in front of it, anything. Or replace the glass with plexiglass. 3) Training. Arrange for someone to come by with a dog, have them hang around in front of the window, wait for the dog to go nuts, then read the riot act to the dog. Surprise is key here, sneak up on her and yell NO!, loud enough to really startle her. Even use something that makes a really loud noise like whacking an empty box with a piece of wood. Do it again and again, over a period of a few weeks, till she won't even want to think about windows. This is not something to fool around with. Smashing windows open could get your dog dead one day. Training her out of this is equivalent to teaching a child not to run out in the road.
You're confusing. Is she breaking the glass in the window each time? Or is she simply pushing the window open? My answer would be different in each of those cases. Exactly what is your living situation? How is it that she's on a roof if she goes out the window? Is she upstairs in a house, or do you live in an apartment? Please clarify! You're right, she's probably just excited to see the other dogs and wants to go visit or play, since you say she's fine with dogs when she meets them on ground level. I can't give you a solution till I know the answers to my questions on the top.
