While driving my E320 I heard something unusual and few seconds after that the car stopped. The engine sounds fine, but the car is not switching to speed front or backwards. Looks like transmission. Interesting is that the car can be manually moved when on park, which it should not do.I was also wandering if it can be connected with the repair somebody did for me a week ago. He did replace both front axles. Any clues?
ROF it's not shift linkage. The axles where not properly Pinned in place. Take it back tell them to reset the axles Guranteed it works your Car has a brain and sensors Just like my Civic does. And when it doesnt detect the Shaft in place it won't engage the drive. Same exact thing Happened right after My Half Shafts where replaced they spun out of the sockets the Les schwab had to come by and Re Insert the Shafts back into the drive converter. Basically he pulled them off then put them back in and pounded then with a malletPut my wheel back on and it drove perfectly.
Sounds like the guy who replaced the axles, screwed up the shift linkage to the trans
