I am of the opinion that at 3 am there is a grid switch that causes a momentary voltage drop and that trips the alarms and because the batteries are low or the detectors are weak they go in an alarm condition to try and save your life. Kill the things and install new ones.
Well, it's only the exterior that is made of brick. The framing, floors, drywall, furnishings, cleaning chemicals, etc are all COMPLETELY flamable
