The citric acid in the lime should naturally preserve it from any decay in the time frame given.
It should be fine just not as juicy. In the future, after you cut it, put it in a baggie in the fridge and it will help it stay juicier.

You should put the lime in the refrigerator. My suggestion would be to slice the lime, place it in a small zip top bag or re usable plastic container. Grab a wedge when you get your soda. The problem with leaving it out, if there is any bacteria on the outside of the lime, or any fruit, once you cut into it the knife will transfer the bacteria to the inside of the fruit. Left out the bacteria will multiply. Probably not a real risk with a citrus since the acid is high but why take a chance.
