I tried that and the case did not completely fit. I used it anyway. However, when I finally wanted to change cases, I actually had to cut the phone out of the case. It was awful. Moreover, I would suggest not getting that case. The sides of that case come up over the top of the phone. This seriously limits your ability to move over the face of the screen around the edges. It makes playing some apps almost impossible. I have a similar style of case. I only use it when I know I won't be actually using the phone (it was unreturnable).
