What i do is use a heat protect spray from tressemay Its only about $4 at the drugstore it works great and also makes your hair smell good and shiny.
You need to buy an expensive iron, and use nicer productsIf you follow the instructions correctly, and talk to your hair stylist about YOUR hair's natural tendencies, then it shouldn't harm you hairIt's people using the tools incorrectly and using improper products that cause most of the hair damage.
There is a product on the market that costs around 300 and lasts around 3-4 monthsIt has protein in it so is good for your hairI think it has keratin in it tooNot many places offer itI only know of one and I live near a big city (Philly) The other option is to flat iron USING A PROTECTIVE SPRAY.
Don't use too high a temperature, as a guide: 190 degrees for fine hair 210 for normal hair 230 for thick hair Use straighteners which don't snag hair Use a heat defence spray before straightening and only straighten completely dry hair.
