I never shut down critical system processes, just some of the owner processes. also, I always used to shut these down before I ever play the sims 2. does anyone know whats happening.
it may be that the light is off-gassing a coating or other vapor that the detector is reacting to.
If you knew about these problems prior to moving in why did you move into such a rental unit? To repair the chirping alarm, normally replacing the batteries, would stop alarm from chirping. You might check your lease or rental agreement to find out if this is a landlord or tenant responsibility. Normally this is something the tenant would do. By contacting the local tenant advocacy groups you would have first hand information on the legal avenues you would have to have your landlord make the necessary repairs without you doing something that would jeopardize your case against the landlord. This is a good idea to have these type groups as a support system that you would be able to rely on. It is still baffling to me as to why you would move into a rental unit when you were aware of the condition and problems currently there.I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
