Question:

My red-eared slider turtle had babies?

Ok, so an unexpected suprise happened today while I was on Google. My turtle laid 2 eggs. How can we incubate them, what can we use to hold them, and how long do they take to hatch?Specific information please.

Answer:

female RES turtles will lay eggs without mating, that are not fertile. meaning they will not hatch. you can actually go ahead and throw the eggs away, they will rot.
If the eggs were in the water, toss them. They will not hatch. Ones on land are delicate. Mark the top with a felt-tipped marker and never rotate them. Sanitize a plastic bag and put a layer of damp absorbent cotton or sphagnum in the bottom. Add the eggs. Close the bag and set it on top of the refrigerator for a couple of months.
