Question:

My wife flushed a plastic tube of lotion down the toilet. Is this bad?

I don't think it's a problem, but she's worried it's going to cause some sort of problem. We live in an apartment, so we're on a sewage system. The tube was a little bigger than a SMALL toothpaste tube. Maybe two fingers wide. Should I be concerned? Should the guy who lives below me be concerned?

Answer:

It could be stuck in the trap and is potentially a problem. You might want to tell the maintenance people or go out and buy a plumbing snake. There's nothing worse than a backed up toilet!!
It could clog the toilet. I guess you will find out later.. My little half-brother did this with a bar of soap a long time ago and the whole toilet had to be replaced
I think you are ok. I wouldn't call anyone until there is actually a problem. Most likely it has already went to the tank by now. Even if it gets stuck in a trap you can unloose it with a plunger to get it to go down into the tank.
No, you shouldn't be concerned if you've used the toilet a few times since you posted this. If it was going to back up or be a problem, it would have happened by now. I hope that puts your mind at ease.
