Question:

need to run a video monitor to control booth from orchestra pit with little cable?

For a performance of Pippin we're doing in my college, our stage manager has requested video up in the booth but we do not have the amount of cable needed to go from stage level to booth. Are there any suggestions that will help us with this problem? we can run cat5, coaxial or s-video.

Answer:

What about getting a wireless surveillence camera? You can get them in color with audio for a very reasonable price, if your budget allows for it. I have one there is pretty good distance before distortion.
well u can pick up coaxial at target or radio shack. how many feet? there is always asking the local cable co. you can ask a Field tech for cable , splitters, fitting with in reason. and they give it to you for free if you get cable at college ask them to run it or even to leave the box and you well do it a new box holds about 1000' .hope this helps
