Can someone please explain to me what exactly nu metal is? Why do Slipknot and linkin park both fall in this category?
Many metals are sufficiently reactive and so form compounds such as oxides, sulphides and carbonates etc. Such compounds are called ores and minerals when naturally occurring because the ore contains many such compunds mixed up. A few metals are found free in nature, for example, Gold. The ores are explored, mined, refined, and then the metals are extracted, purified, alloyed and converted into useful products. The whole field is called metallurgy.
In the gound, there it is called ore!
Some of it is found underground..
metals are mostly found in vains, and ores. when you dig into the ground and find a slap of mostlypure metal, it is called a vain when you have trace amounts in regular rocks, it's called ore. you pretty much have to dig it up in either case.
The major iron ore deposits of the world are found in ancient ocean deposits that are billions of years old, deposited when the earth's atmosphere was oxygen-poor. Many metal ores are associated with igneous rocks: nickel, chromium, platinum-group, copper, titanium, iron. Volcanic rocks, especially volcanic rocks with hydrothermal systems on the ocean floor are good environments in which to find some types of metal deposits: gold, mercury, antimony, copper and base metals Some metal rich deposits form from high-temperature fluids coming off igneous intrusions (some as breccia pipes: tin, molybdenum. Some metal-rich ores are deposited by hot-circulating fluids: gold, lead, zinc,
