I was on the New York City Housing Authority list for low- income housing for 12 yearsFinally, after renting a furnished room in a Brooklyn ghetto area, I got my NYCHA letter of acceptance into the Far Rockaway (Queens) projectsI was overjoyed for finally getting a chance to rent my very own apartment with view of the beachHowever, little did I know what awaited me in the projects:1-loud noise all hours of the day2-gang activities on the outer perimeter of the building3-prostitution inside and outside the building4-drugs lords everywhere from the A train to the beach to the projects5-urine and poop in the elevatorsTo make a long story short, I decided, after 3 months without solid rest and sleep time, to give up my apartmentMy rent was $387, which nonexistent in NYC.What do you say about my sad story?Have any of you ever experienced disappointment to such a degree that it leaves you feeling without hope? How many of you ever lived in the projects?
cold air and straight through filters are a waste of money, the injection system just compensates you would need a remap of the ignition system/fuel injection to get a benefit and consumption would be high plus you need to incorporate the MAF meter , if you have a carburetor it might get you a small improvement
I don't know much about Cobalt's but I can tell you that a KN is one of the best air intake's they have for all cars/trucksI have a mustang and noticed a very big difference after installationSo, in my opinion I'm sure all air intakes make a difference but I think KN would make the biggest.
Which ever one you get, make sure it has what is called a dump gate on itA dump gate is a spring loaded door that opens up to let air in when air filter gets wetIts located between air filter and intake of engineIf you do not have one, and you get the air filter soaked for some reason like hitting a big water puddle, the engine will continue to try and pull air in through the water soaked air filterIf enough water gets into the intake and engine it will cause it to hydro-lockHydro-lock can damage a engine by bending connecting rods and blowing head gaskets.
keep the stock intake tubeAll of those kits are a waste of money unless they come with a box to separate the air cleaner from the heat of the engineThe reason for a COLD air intake is that cold air can hold a more dense fuel mixture, creating more powerHowever, the cheap intake tubes with a kn filter are actually sucking in the hotter air from the engine bay (which means less fuel, less power)The stock air box usually sucks in colder air from the fender well or front bumper area and has a rubber or plastic hose that transfers heat much less than the aluminum tube your going to replace it withThe intake tubes look cooler, but actually reduce performanceAnd it doesn't matter what air filter you have, the stock one works just as well as a KN for about $50 less and you don't have to clean and oil it or worry about the filter oil ruining your mass airflow sensor like KN filters doa 6 hp gain isn't enough to feelYou loose 5 hp by turning on your lights and making the alternator work harder, ever notice that difference in power? I didn't think so!
You write wellVery wellAnyway, try the federal housing program Section 8 and try to get into Starritt City in Carnasie, BrooklynFar Rockaway, even though you had a bad experience, is changing like Coney Island is changingWaterfront apartments are now seen as highly desirable.
