Answer:

The reality of space is perhaps different from what you imagine Things in space are pretty difficult to detect given that space is so big. For example, a Kilometer-sized asteroid living in the asteroid belt is pretty hard to see, even with telescopes. As an example, new moons (essentially captured asteroids) continue to be found around Jupiter and Saturn. We have been observing these planets continuously for centuries and have sent several probes there ! Asteroids also tend to be dark in colour, often reflecting only 1 of the sunlight reaching them. Also think of probes such as Pioneer and Voyager: unless you knew where to look and what frequency to listen to, you would never find them, even with today's radio-telescopes. You are correct that small a body that generates no heat would be difficult to detect. Ultimately, though, all bodies reflects and absorb some light, at least at some frequencies. So if you are close enough or have a sensitive enough detector, you would find it provided you are looking in the right place
The Ninjette has done a CC50 from the Pacific Ocean across the U.S. to the Atlantic Ocean in 50 hours. That's 37 hours at the speed limit on the Interstates plus 13 hours fuel stops, meal stops, rest/sleep stop. You tell me is the Ninjette *capable*? Re: light weight the new improved larger 2008+ Ninjette is seven pounds lighter than my Suzuki LS650. I've traveled the Interstates and never noticed any problem with cross winds or the slip streams of semi's or motorhomes. (well, almost, at one point the cross wind was so hard that the 'protection' from my wind screen was a over eighteen inches to the right.) Possibly because I know wind patterns and compensate as the gusts are hitting. And if it is economy you are looking for, the 65 mpg of my 650 or the 80 mpg of the Ninjette sure beats the 40-50 mpg of the bigger bikes.
