Question:

on 1968 chevy 3/4 ton rearend does the axles hold in by half moon washers to help keep from coming out of hub?

when i changed bearings and seals on 3/4 ton rear end when i unscrewed axle keepers the axle slid out .is there half moon keepers in pumpkin?

Answer:

3/4 ton axles don't use the half moon keepers--the axles are held in out by the bearings by retainers.easier to replace an axle on those models.
you may have a worn out master cylinder just above the brake pedal somtimes the seal fails and fluid diverts around seals
check brake fluid in resevoir, check brake pads, push down on brake lever, is it solid or spungy? If it feels solid it's either brake pads or caliper is stuck.
Shoes are worn out, splined shaft has sliped inside brake lever.Worn out master cylinder.
