New code requires a smoke detector in each bedroom within 3 feet of the door, as well as one on each level in a public area. It also requires them to be hardwired with battery backup, and interconnected. I realize that this is not feasible in your situation, but I would make sure to have one in each bedroom and one in the main area. It's pretty cheap life insurance. Hope this helps.
It's your life. Personally I don't want to go through life not riding motorcycles. But it's a serious decision, you can die or end up paralyzed or whatever. You have to want to ride a bike bad enough to take the risk. Other drivers do not pay attentention. If you follow the rules and are always in the right you will get tagged. You have to be ready to drive as if you have a bullseye on your chest and then you might stand a chance. The dangers are real when you ride a bike.
On the celing Outside every bedroom door.
bedrooms, kitchen, basement, garage, nearly everywhere especially where people may sleep, near appliances and furnaces, or placed where people may not be able to see the fire such as in the garage or basementbedrooms are a must though, also make sure you have a meeting spot outside of your house. Also make sure the detectors are on the inside if smoke is detected on the outside you may not be able to hear the alarm going off; however you can test it and if you can hear it clearly then put it on the outside to detect the smoke before its too late.
