I decided to paint the ceilings in my home as it's been 10+ years. I would never have taken on this task had I known what was involved. I purchased my paint and rollers. The first problem was that the paint was soaked up like a sponge but with little coverage. Next, I tried a roller with a larger nap, all this did was use more paint and still resulted in little coverage. I have now have pieces of accoustic all over my dining room. I am wondering about a sprayer that can be used indoors? Or any other tips on how to complete with task. Thanks in advance.
Using a face shield and other safety protection, a solid steel scraper bar works. Start on an edge. If this is unavailable use a hammer but be very careful because it breaks like glass and could do some serious body damage. Scrape the floor smooth and your ready for the new floor
I'd find and use a surplus fragmentation grenade Shouldn't take too long to solve your problem. Seriously, some method to fragment the tile into tiny shards would have to be the start of the process followed up by grinding or scraping on a very heavy scale to smooth things out.
the easiest way is an air chisel if you have a compressor the air chisel is pretty cheap to buy, wear eye protection and dust protection, it is a real mess to remove the stuck thinset mortar that holds the tile but the tile come right up with an air chisel like magic
A few of my friends that wet the bed sometimes use one under their sheets. It's no biggie and nothing to worry about if you wet the bed, and the rubber sheet does make clean up easier. Kindest thoughts, Hermes
Go to your local rental store and rent a chipping hammer, they should have a thinset blade to go with it. The chipping hammer will remove the tile and the thinset blade that attatches to the hammer will remove the old mortar from the floor.
