Question:

Pallet Expander Questions?

I have had this pallet expander for about 6 hours and it's HELL! I can't talk right, and I can't chew anything without it getting stuck on the top of it. How can I prevent this?

Answer:

Check on Craigslist, frequently, and / or post a free ad seeking them. Also, check any other local industries, and be prepared to make your own repairs..
Ok couple of things don't ring true here. Your in the shipping business and your asking YA members where to find pallets. You should have enough contacts in the Industry itself to find pallets, Most are just discarded and thrown away. Look into building your own.
I once worked for a used pallet rebuilding company. They would send me out to various factories to pick up truck loads of extra and damaged pallets. Perhaps you can find such a place in the yellow pages of the phone book. Drive around to various factories and ask if they have extras they want to get rid of. Some consider them trash, but don't steal any, some companies re-use them. Don't take any plastic pallets or blue painted pallets, they are rentals.
The only way to find out is ask manager there are plenty of pallets that aren't reused cement pallets are discarded any pallets that go an intl border in general now not reused as the duty to get them back to starting place exceeds there price
Tennessee is a big state. You need to start in your own city. Call the local recycling office and ask for the names of companies that recycle pallets. Then call other big businesses that get in lots of shipments, like newspaper and magazine printers, grocery stores, Walmart, etc. Many businesses are just happy to get rid of them, you have to do the work to find them.
