Question:

Phave an 02 dodge intrepid sxt 6 cylc auto an the check engine light is on. diagnostic test gave me codes?

P0700 P0871 P1776 what are they and do they relate to the same problem? The car runs good except once in a while when i slow down and then speed up it down shifts and stays that way until I stop and turn off the motor and restart then it is fine again . Can you inform me more about this ? Thanks

Answer:

they are all transmission codes, they have to do with the TCC. The TCC is when the torque converter gos into lock up for overdrive. The codes are not a good thing to have, you will need to take in to a transmission shop, or the a dealer. Its not a cheep thing to fix, But 1st check transmission fluid level. Good luck.
I agree with the other peoples description of the codes and also that this is not a good thing but you may also try to have the transmission completely flushed out and use only mopar fluid. I have seen this done in the past and it sometimes works because the fluid is dirty due to lack of servicing the unit.
P0700 Transmission control system – malfunction Wiring, TCM P0871 Transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor C – range/performance Wiring, poor connection, TFP sensor, ECM/TCM Transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch C – range/performance Wiring, poor connection, TFP switch, ECM/TCM P1776 Power Control Module- Malfunction hope this helpsounds like a new pcm
