Question:

Physics questions about alpha particles and beta particles, and gamma rays?

1. What are the signs of the charges on the three forms of radiation (alpha particles, beta particles, and gamma rays)?2. Which particle (alpha or beta) is more massive?3. Do all (a, b, and y) carry energy? Do they all carry momentum?4. Say that you use cardboard, copper foil, aluminum plate, and lead sheet to block beta particles. If you had equal thicknesses of each substance, which would be the most effective blocker? Which would be the least effective blocker?

Answer:

There are certain flat irons that you can by that have a round barrel to them like a curling iron but with out the clap that the curling iron has. if you want a good one you will have to go to your local salon if they don't have one for sale you can see if they can order you one in, or you can go to your local beauty supply store and see if they have one
Curling your hair with a flat iron can work even better than a curling iorn if all you want is to curl the ends. It wont work if you want very curly hair. Simply bend your hair around the edge of the flat iron!
alpha particle- 4/2 He ( a positive particle that contains 2 protons and 2 neutrons, so it has a mass of 4 and a charge if 2+ Beta 0 -1e( a charge of -1) Gamma 0 (not a particle) 0 Yes all a,b and y carry energy. As for momentum am not so sure about that.
Charges: Alpha 2+ Beta 1- Gamma 0 Mass: The alpha has 2 protons and 2 neutrons, therefore a mass number of 4. The beta (electron) is about 1/2000 th of the mass of a proton. Energy and Momentum. All three have energy and momentum. Although the gamma has no mass, it does have momentum. Blocker. All three metals would stop betas with the most effective being lead. Cardboard would be least effective.
well you can only really do that if you have a really skinny straightener. like the chi or somethin and all you do is go like you're straightening it but stop at the end and curl it just like a curling iron. it works the same pretty much just it won't work if you don't have a skinny straightener and a decent one at that.
