Tech death musicians most certainly do. They have to if they want to maintain that Technical tag.
yeah.. technical death metal is very difficult to play, so you kind of have to be a perfectionist to be good at it

Metal is not liked huh? Tell that the millions of people who like it. Anyway yea tech death musicians are perfectionists and you kinda need to with the technical death metal atmosphere. I don't think there is a drummer out there that is more talented then a death metal drummer to be honest.
