Do press have to contact someone to get on the red carpet or do they just show up with their camera's and accreditation? I have the press release for the premiere i just didn't know if i should let them know I'm coming to the premiere... thanks!
Most red carpet events require press credentials, which means, in effect, that you need to get their permission first. The press credentials for each event are given out by the officials running the event. They are not general licenses or ID. On the press release, there should be a media contact phone number or email. Contact them and tell them you want to cover the event for your newspaper, magazine, blog, or whatever. If it's a relatively small event, and they are looking for as much press coverage as they can get, they will probably get you a spot on the red carpet. If it's a major event, that the press is hungry to cover, then space on the carpet will be limited, so they will be more particular, and are less likely to let small media outlets in.
You need to contact the PRO of the event in advance so that he will guide you the right way orelse you may have to face embrasements at times which can be avoided
