Question:

Pressed powder or loose powder over foundation?

I'm currently using the Prescriptives Flawless SkinTotal Protection and when I apply it in the morning it looks great on my skin once it dries, but 3 hours later my face looks very oily. I have never used powder over my foundation before. I wanted to make my skin look natural when wearing foundation, so thats why I was afraid to use the powder plus foundation. Should I use the Prescriptives pressed powder or the loose powder to help control the shiny look?

Answer:

loose is good to apply directly after foundation to help mattify...it provides light coverage when applied with a brush. pressed is great to carry with you for easy touch ups.
It really doesn't make a difference whether it's loose or pressed. They both do the same job. Only the texture is different. If you have oily skin, you should use the pressed power. It will probably keep the shine away longer. Plus it's easier to carry with you in case you need to touch up. Your skin should still look natural after the powder as long as you buy the right shade. When you go the counter to but the powder, make sure you let them know you have oily skin, so they will sell you a powder to control the oil. I wear Estee Lauder foundation and power and still look natural.
