Question:

Problem with my cars charging system?

I left my lights on one day when it was raining really bad outside, and the next day my battery was dead. Up until then, I haven‘t had a single electrical problem, battery died before but i replaced it and the car was fine. This time however I replaced the battery and a day later my car stalled on the side of the road. I got it checked out and i was told that my alternator wasn‘t keeping my battery charged. I replaced the alternator and now my battery still isn‘t staying charged.I‘m not sure what could be the problem. I‘m thinking there may be some bad wires or something just preventing the battery from being charged or the battery is just bad. Multiple times i got that battery tested and it came back unstable but then they would test it again, it would say its fine and try to recharge it rather then letting me exchange it for a new battery.I need opinions, what do you think could be wrong with my car and how much on average would a repair cost?

Answer:

well sounds like there is a bad cell in battery not allowing it to charge have it tested again and if it comes back unstable have it warrantied for another one
A metal plate with wonder board (concrete on top)
go to a differnet store and have the system tested again, the next time the battery tests bad (which is what I think the problem is, buy a new one, dont get cheap battery go with Interstate, a sears die hard. another good battery is a NASCAR battery. you may have to go on the internet to find one. both interstate, and sears die hards should be available. I stopped using cheap batteries years ago after ending up in a wheel chair. Even Napa has decent batteries, but costco, wal mart, auto zone oriellys, all use crap batteries. You pay more for a good battery, but you get a battery that lasts. leaving the lights on does not always kill a battery. but it pays to have a small battery charger at home just in case, you can get one for like 40 bucks that does the job, and it pays for itself the first couple of times you need one and do not have one,
