My friend just bought a used 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. He has already spend a small fortune fixing the car up and now the engine light is constantly on. He was told that is has something to do with the PCM. Also, when he first bought it, the digital light on the winshield was working and now that is out too. Is there something He can do to fix this PCM and have the engine light stop coming on??
have you ever had computing gadget test for difficulty codes? Is the supercharger production unit or aftermarket? it incredibly is a risk which you may desire to get computing gadget reprogrammed if aftermarket ought to be giving conflicting readings from MAF sensor.
Take the car to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone. They have the code scanner there that you simply plug in and it reads the codes. The scanner will tell you the code and what the fault is. The service engine light is primarily for the emission control system. If it is not a major problem you can use the scanner to delete the code and the light will go off. My Pontiac does that from time to time giving an oxygen sensor fault- so I go to Advance and turn it off. Since they have added more ethanol to gasoline that causes oxygen sensors to go out more frequently- at least that is what I have heard. I'm sure if your friend doesn't know how the use the code scanner one of the store workers will gladly show him how to use it.
