Putting aluminum foil behind aquarium light?

Someone told me to get the most of my light I could put aluminum foil all around it.Like not directly on it but on the plastic(?) piece the fluorescent tube goes into.Is this true? Would that be dangerous?The light is in a ''Delux Full Hood'' by aqueon so it's just like a basic regular hood////
