Question:

Quartz and Speed Of Light?

Two questions:1. What is quartz made up of? What minerals, ingredients, particles, etc. are within it?2. What is the speed of light, exactly, in kilometers (km)Thanks for the help, Answerers!Greatly appreciate it

Answer:

The feldspars all have cleavage, whereas quartz does not. Quartz crystallizes in the hexagonal (rhombohedral) crystal system, but the feldspars are either monoclinic or triclinic.
Another way is under thin section (microscope). When filters are applied, and you turn the sample, the zoning in feldspar is quite obvious, whereas for quartz, secions will fade in and out, turning an almost yellowish color before turning black.
