The main thing to consider with composite sinks is it's temperature rating. Many less expensive granite composite sinks can/will CRACK when you pour boiling water into them, say when draining some cooked pasta. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to kitchen sinks, so ask a lot of questions and read the warranty.
Granite and Quartz are not the same..Granite may contain Quartz but Quartz is much more fragile than Granite..so when your looking for work tops extra, even though it might be 80% quartz, it really doesnt matter as the 20% Granite will be strong enough for what you want..so if you cant find all granite..( and it is hard too..I know ) then it will be fine to get the mixed..hope this help's a bit..good luck..
