Question:

question about air duct?

under my doublw wide theres a rectagle sheet meatle duct with a copper line screwed in it. what is it?

Answer:

I know what your thinking, it wont work. Leave it alone, that is your air condition line, and you cant rip it out and scrap it for cash. Ive done it. Your wife will kill you. Try the neighbors??
Sounds like a cool air return for a furnace.
Most likely the rectangle box is the evaporator coil also called acooling coil. The copper pipes going to it are the refrigeration piping. Thin one is the high pressure and the bigger insulated is the lower pressure suction line. The evaporator coil is used for cooling. It will be in-line with your air ducting. Cool#9
