Question about Air suspension system in Ford Expedition?

I have a 2000 ford expedition with 4wd and rear air bag leveling system. Well the ride on my car is horrible. I can feel every little bump on the road times 10. I was wondering if my SUV has a torsion bar which is twisted(for the lift) because we are certain when we bought it, it had a lift. and the air bag system is leveling them out. In my knowledge twisting the torsion bar for a lift is bad. Could this be the problem of suspension problems?

Answer:

It's possible the height adjustment on the air suspension has been messed with. If you run the air bags up, that will make the rear stiffer. There is a link between the rear axle the underside of the body that controls the air suspensionCrawl under there see if it's been maxed-out.
