Do all cars have an axle?
The axle is what connects the left and right tires and connects to the driveshaft to turn the wheels. It's pretty vital to move. To my knowledge, all cars have axles of some description.
No way, I would guess less than half of cars have 1 axle. If the car is Front Wheel Drive (FWD) then there is no axle on the front, its drive shafts from the gearbox to the wheels not an axle. At the back of a FWD you will sometimes get a beam axle (solid metal bar between the wheels), but quite often its Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) so no axle. On Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) axle up front, no chance really (you might get a front beam axle on cars over about 60 years old, see link below to a replica Bugatti a friend is building). At the back of a RWD you may get an axle, but again you could get IRS (IRS is better). As most car are FWD now, axles are getting rare. 4WD is different and may have axles but could be independent, wont go into that though.
Yes. All cars have axles.
